Water & Food
Finding, carrying, treating and storing water, plus calories, hunger and the shift toward renewable survival.
Water
Water is not just a number in your inventory. It has quantity, a container, a source and safety information.
Bottles can be emptied and refilled. Water can be transferred between suitable containers. Large open vessels such as buckets are intended for sensible hand/camp use rather than being magically packed while full.
Known-safe vs unknown water
Your survivor may know where water came from and whether that source is believed potable. Treatment and boiling are therefore part of survival knowledge, not just an animation.
Open containers and rain
Deliberately placed containers can form part of persistent camp or Safe House infrastructure. This is different from simply dropping an item as world debris.
Food and calories
The abstract baseline is approximately 2,000 kcal per day. Food deficit initially affects function and recovery and only becomes directly life-threatening at severe stages.
Scavenging is finite
Shops do not magically refill forever. Long-term survival shifts from looting toward farming, preservation, rain collection, foraging, hunting and renewable infrastructure.
