Getting Started
A practical first-day guide to staying alive without turning the game into a rigid quest line.
Your first hour
There is no compulsory tutorial route, but your first priorities are usually water, shelter, local knowledge and a way to avoid being caught unprepared.
- Check your survivor. Health, hydration, nutrition, cleanliness, fatigue and current statuses matter separately.
- Survey the area. Spend Action Points to reveal information your survivor can plausibly observe.
- Open Nearby. You can play without relying on map interaction.
- Find containers and water. Water becomes critical far sooner than food.
- Find shelter or establish a camp. Weather and wet sleeping gear can turn a mediocre situation into a dangerous one.
- Scavenge intelligently. A pharmacy, hardware store and supermarket should have different survival value.
There are no character levels
Your survivor stays human. An experienced survivor is dangerous because they have useful equipment, a secure base, practical skills and local knowledge — not because their health has scaled into the thousands.
Map optional, knowledge essential
The map visualises information already known to the survivor. Nearby and discovery lists remain first-class interfaces and reveal only server-approved knowledge.
A good first goal is not “kill zombies”. It is “be able to drink, sleep, stay dry and return somewhere safe”.
